心理活动周随阳光渐远，我们伴着花香迎来了大连市第二十三中学第25届英语节。

英语节一直是23中的传统活动，我们通过举办英语节，激发同学们对英语学习的兴趣和爱好，活跃校园气氛，丰富课余生活，提高同学们的英语口语能力和综合能力。今年是中国共产党建党一百周年，我们处在一个与世界紧密联系的时代。学好英语是我们对外展示中国文化软实力的有力方式，是通过文化交流提高文化自信的绝佳机会，希望同学们都能从本次活动中收获知识、承担使命。

一年复一年，匆匆又夏天，我们又迎来了期盼已久的英语节。时光荏苒，英语节已伴随二十三中学度过了二十四个年头。今天，我们迎来了大连市第二十三中学第二十五届英语节。本次英语节的主题是：“献礼百年恰年少，英汉同频更志豪”。

少年情怀总是诗，放眼处皆自负，才高八斗，自命风流。我们此时恰逢年少，风华正茂，朝气自溢，又逢中国共产党百岁生日，在此，本次英语节将以中英同频的方式献礼祖国，向祖国表达我们的敬意。

英语不仅是一种语言，一门学科，更是连接我们与世界的纽带。借由英语这个媒介，我们得以一窥其他文化的魅力，得以在不同学科领域感受更多思想的碰撞。我们们中国青年肩负着“讲好中国故事，传播中国声音”的使命，这也是我们们学好英语的时代意义。

本次英语节活动主要分为三个部分，分别为歌唱比赛、演讲比赛和配音比赛。这些活动最精彩的部分将会被列入到7月份的闭幕秀中，我们的英语节活动也为同学们展示自我，培养学习兴趣提供了契机。同学们可以在演讲中锻炼辩证思维，在歌声中体会音乐和语言的魅力，在配音中获得学习与合作的乐趣。在往届英语节中，我们总能欣喜地发现同学们不为人知的天赋和才艺，享受一场又一场视听盛宴。今年我们同样期待同学们的精彩表现，也希望大家真正的从比赛中收获乐趣，收获成长，享受英语！我真心希望这次活动能对你们的学习有很大帮助，给大家留下一些难忘的回忆。

I’mZou Yue from the English teaching department. English Festival, popular withall the students, has become part of our school culture. The past 24 years haveseen the successful host of this annual festival in our school. And today, weare more than pleased and excited to celebrate the 25th birthday of thisconventional festival. The theme of the English Festival for this year is“Magnificent Century, Ambitious Youth, Harmonious Competition” .           

Asyouth is constantly related to blooming enthusiasm, vigorous ambitions andconsiderable talent. you are all blessed with energy and potentials beyondimagination and limitation. The English Festival may serve as the stage for youto reveal and present your energy and abilities. Moreover, your efforts andperformances could be the perfect gift presented to celebrate the 100thbirthday of the Party while sending regards to our beloved motherland.

Englishis more than a language or a subject, but a bond linking us with the outsideworld. It enables us to get an insight into the charm of other cultures and theexchange of ideas across the globe. Nowadays, as China becomes an increasinglyimportant power worldwide, Chinese teenagers are endowed with the newresponsibility of “telling Chinese stories, spreading Chinese voice”, whichrepresents the time significance of learning English and the original intentionof our English Festival.

Thefestival this year is divided into three parts, including the Competition ofDubbing English Films, the English Speech Contest and the English Song SingingCompetition. And the best part of these activities will be included in theclosing ceremony show in July. These activities are intended for you to fullyshow your talents, present your individual identity while developing a deeperinterest in English. You may learn about critical thinking in the speechcontest, feel addicted to the beauty of language and music combined and reapthe joy of study and cooperation in the dubbing competition. In the previousEnglish Festivals, we teachers were always amazed by your hidden talents andexcellent performances. And I’m convinced this year, you guys may bring us moresurprise, with the enthusiasm of the first-graders and the capability of thesophomores.I truly hope the festival can be of great help to your study andleave some unforgettable memories to us all.
