心理活动周随阳光渐远，我们又迎来了大连市第二十三中学第二十六届英语节。英语节一直是我校的传统活动，通过举办英语节，能够充分激发同学们对英语学习的兴趣和爱好，活跃校园气氛，丰富同学们的课余生活，提高同学们的英语口语能力和综合能力。

一年复一年，匆匆又夏天，我们又迎来了期盼已久的英语节。时光荏苒，英语节已伴随二十三中学度过了二十五个年头。今天，我们迎来了大连市第二十三中学第二十六届英语节。本次英语节的主题是：“奋斗驱萧索，不负少年时”。

少年情怀总是诗，我们此时恰逢年少，风华正茂，应用青春的活力尝试世间的种种可能，尽管疫情肆虐，然而少年不惧岁月长，彼方尚有荣光在。

英语不仅是一种语言，一门学科，更是连接我们与世界的纽带。借由英语这个媒介，我们得以感受其他文化的魅力，得以在不同学科领域感受更多思想的碰撞。我们中国青年肩负着“讲好中国故事，传播中国声音”的使命，这也是我们学好英语的时代意义。

本次英语节活动主要分为三个部分，分别为歌唱比赛、演讲比赛和配音比赛，为同学们展示自我，培养学习兴趣提供了契机。这些活动最精彩的部分将会被列入到7月份的文艺汇演中，同学们可以在演讲中锻炼辩证思维，在歌声中体会音乐和语言的魅力，在配音中获得学习与合作的乐趣。在往届英语节中，我们总能欣喜地发现同学们深藏不露的天赋和才艺，享受一场又一场视听盛宴。今年我们同样期待同学们的精彩表现，也希望大家真正地从比赛中享受英语，收获乐趣，收获成长！

Respected principal and teachers, boys and girls, good morning !

I am Li Na from the English teaching department. English festival, popular with all the students, has become part of our school culture. The past 25 years have seen the successful host of this annual festival in our school. And today, we are more than pleased and excited to celebrate the 26th birthday of this conventional festival. The theme of the English festival for this year is “Fearless Journey, Glorious Youth”.

As youth is constantly related to blooming enthusiasm, vigorous ambitions and considerable talent. You are all blessed with energy and potential beyond imagination and limitation. The English festival may serve as the stage for you to reveal and present your energy and abilities. At this time, we have the vitality of youth to try all kinds of possibilities in the world. Although we have gone through a tough period of time due to the spread of the COVID-19, teenagers like you are not afraid of the longevity of time, and there are still something worth pursuing in the distance.

English is more than a language or a subject, but a bond linking us with the outside world. It enables us to get an insight into the charm of other cultures and the exchange of ideas across the globe. Nowadays, as China plays a dominant role in the international community, Chinese teenagers are endowed with the new responsibility of “telling Chinese stories, spreading Chinese voice”, which represents the time significance of learning English and the original intention of our English festival.

The English festival this year consists of three parts, including the Competition of Dubbing English Films, the English Speech Contest and the English Song Singing Competition. These activities are intended for you to fully show your talents, present your individual identity while developing a deeper interest in English. And the best part of these activities will be included in the final performance in July. You may learn about critical thinking in the speech contest, feel addicted to the beauty of language and music combined and reap the joy of study and cooperation in the dubbing competition. In the previous English festivals, we teachers were always amazed by your exceptional talents and excellent performances. And I’m convinced this year, you guys may bring us more surprises, with the enthusiasm of the first-graders and the capability of the sophomores. I truly hope the festival can be of great help to your study and leave some unforgettable memories to us all.

Lastly, I wish the 26th “English Festival” of Dalian NO.23 Senior High a great success.
