English festival, popular with all the students, has become part of our school culture. The past 26 years have seen the successful host of this annual festival in our school.

深受学生欢迎的英语节已经成为我们校园文化的一部分。春风得意马蹄疾，在过去的26年里，这个一年一度的节日从未缺席。

Today, we are more than pleased and excited to celebrate the 27th birthday of this conventional festival. The theme of the English festival for this year is “Youth and passion fuel dreams”.

今天，我们怀揣着激动的心情，迎来了大连市第二十三中学第27届英语节。今年英语节的主题是“青春恰似火，追梦正当时”。

Passion and dream are the privileges of youth. Youth is constantly related to blooming enthusiasm, vigorous ambitions and considerable dream. Now, you are all blessed with ambition and potential beyond imagination and limitation. If the dream is big enough, the facts don’t count.

激情和梦想是青春的特权。青春里充满了蓬勃的热情、雄心的抱负和无限的可能。此时，你们都被赋予了超乎想象的抱负和潜力。心中有梦想，风雨不折腰。

The English festival may serve as the stage for you to reveal and present your energy and abilities. At this time, we have the vitality of youth to try all kinds of possibilities in the world.

英语节会为你们提供展示自己激情和能力的舞台，此时，我们恰逢年少，风华正茂，应用青春的活力尝试世间的种种可能。

English is more than a language or a subject, but a bond linking us with the outside world. It enables us to get an insight into the charm of other cultures and the exchange of ideas across the globe.

英语不仅仅是一门语言或一门学科，而是连接我们与外部世界的纽带。它使我们能够深入了解其他文化的魅力，还可以在不同学科领域中感受更多思想的碰撞。

Nowadays, as China plays a dominant role in the international community, Chinese teenagers are endowed with the new responsibility of “telling Chinese stories, spreading Chinese voice”, which represents the time significance of learning English and the original intention of our English festival.

如今，随着中国在国际社会中占据主导地位，中国青年被赋予了“讲好中国故事，传播中国声音”的新责任，这代表着学习英语的时代意义，也是学校举办英语节的初衷。

The English festival this year consists of three parts, including the Competition of Dubbing English Films, the English Speech Contest and the English Song Singing Competition. These activities are intended for you to fully show your talents,while developing a deeper interest in English.

今年的英语节由三个部分组成，包括英语电影配音比赛、英语歌唱比赛和英语演讲比赛。这些活动旨在让你充分展示你的才华，同时培养对英语更深层次的兴趣。

The best part of these activities will be included in the final performance in July. You may learn about critical thinking in the speech contest, feel addicted to the beauty of language and music combined and reap the joy of study and cooperation in the dubbing competition.

这些活动中最精彩的部分将被收录在7月份的艺术节中，同学们会在演讲中锻炼辩证思维，在歌唱中着迷于语言和音乐的美妙结合，在配音中收获学习和合作的快乐。

In the previous English festivals, we teachers were always amazed by your exceptional talents and excellent performances. And I’m convinced this year, you guys may bring us more surprises, with the enthusiasm of the first-graders and the capability of the sophomores. I truly hope the festival can be of great help to your study and leave some unforgettable memories to us all.

在过去的英语节上，老师总是欣喜于我们深藏不露的天赋和才艺。相信今年，我们会带着一年级学生的热情和二年级学生的能力，为英语节添彩更多的惊喜。希望这个节日能对我们的学习有很大的帮助，给我们所有人留下一些难忘的回忆。
