大连市第二十三中学

At the height of summer, everything is in full bloom. With the strong support of school leaders and the joint efforts of all teachers and students, the 28th English Festival of Dalian No. 23 Middle School lasted for two weeks and achieved a complete success. Today we are here to hold the grand closing ceremony.

本届英语节以“文化有大美，自信以持之”为主题。比赛由英语配音、英文歌曲、英语演讲，英语书法比赛，英语手抄报比赛以及英语单词比赛六个部分组成。初赛和决赛的激烈竞争见证了同学们的热情和付出。

The theme of this year's English festival is "Self-confidence sustains splendid culture". The competition consists of six parts: Competition of Dubbing English Films, the English Song Singing Competition, the English Speech Contest, the English Calligraphy Competition, the English Hand-copied Newspaper Competition and the English Vocabulary Contest. The intense competition in the preliminary and final rounds witnessed the enthusiasm and dedication of the students.

本届比赛参赛作品数量多，品质高。一首首充满青春活力的英文歌曲，一场场富有朝气和思想的演讲，一段段惟妙惟肖的英文经典配音，一篇篇精美的英文书法作品，一张张别出心裁的英文手抄报，和如火如荼的单词竞赛无不彰显着二十三学子的才华，以及传播中国文化，讲好中国故事的责任意识。

The number of entries in this competition is large and the quality is high. The English songs are full of youth and vitality, the speeches are full of vigor and thought, the English dubbing is full of emotions and rhythm. Meanwhile, the exquisite calligraphy works, the ingenious hand-copied newspapers and the competitive English words competition all highlight the talents of the students of NO. 23 middle school and their sense of responsibility to spread Chinese culture and tell Chinese stories in English.

同学们，英语不仅是我们高考科目中重要的组成部分，作为一种国际性的通用语言工具，它也是新时代的我们必备的技能之一。学好英语可以全面提升我们的个人素质，提升思维能力，开拓文化视野。

Dear students, English is not only an important part of our college entrance examination subjects, as an international universal language tool, it is also one of our necessary skills in the new era. Learning English well can comprehensively improve our personal quality, enhance our thinking ability and broaden our cultural horizon.

作为二十三中学传统的节日，英语节旨在创造机会和搭建舞台，让我们更好地展示自己，进而激发我们学习英语的潜能，学以致用，从而为未来的我们走向更大的舞台奠定夯实的基础。

As the traditional festival of No. 23 Middle School, the English Festival aims to create opportunities and build a stage for us to better show ourselves, and then stimulate our potential to learn English, so as to lay a solid foundation for us to go to a bigger stage in the future.
